i just see this celebration as a time when freinds and family have the opportunity to get together and enjoy each others company ,having a meal ,drinks , and social intercourse .. smiddy.
That's part of the joy of being free. We can choose to participate in festivities in a way that's comfortable for us. The holiday season means different things to different people but no matter what our beliefs are, it is great to get together and experience the warmth of time with family and friends. Hope your Holiday Celebration was filled with joy and good memories. Happy New Year too. Leslie

Best gift was having hubby home for 3 1/2 days rather than the usual 36 hrs (he's a long-haul truck driver) Presents included a hard cover large sketch book, set of oil paints, set of good quality art brushes, acrylic paints, skulpting tools and the biggie...a Black &Decker skill saw which I so badly wanted, plus some other smaller gifts. We had a wonderful X-mas. -Leslie
my wife, my m-i-l and i were driving over to my wife's aunt's home on christmas day to celebrate christmas - which involved letting the aunt's great-great-grandkids open their presents, and eating an early supper (or late lunch).. we were on the way at around 10:30am to 11:00am to the house.
about a couple of miles away, whilst driving through the neighborhood, i spotted a couple of middle-aged young women wearing skirts down to their ankles, and carrying large handbags (aka 'bookbags').
they were between houses, and walking slowly... pioneer stroll?....
If I recall correctly, only did X-mas Day witnessing once and that was enough. The people answering the door were so totally pissed off. I felt that it was rude and disrespectful so never did it again.
a search for the best laundry soap turned up that it was tide.
tide is very expensive, though.
baking soda.
PAINTED TOENAIL & OHIO COWBOY: It is good to hear from those who have tried it and know it works.
LIQUID HANDSOAP is easy to make using leftover soap bits and water. Put in a container with boiling water, melt the soap bits and stir until mixed. Let stand overnight, stir again. You may have to add more water depending on how thick/thin you want the mixture. You can make a LOT of liquid handsoap with only a few left over slivers of soap. Leslie

Those people are truly disgusting. I wonder if they were given less media attention, they would just go away. Bringing "persecution" upon themselves and stirring up controversy is very reminiscent of the JW's. Trying to get in the news and drawing attention to themselves, free publicity at its best. Just my .02 cents. Leslie
this link contains news of a letter sent to the elders about witnesses setting up stands to peddle literature in public places!
how desperate are they?
it sounds sad honestly... and they are told not to argue with apostates .
This is a good thing! They will not be able to escape without looking like wimps if they are confronted by someone who knows what this org. truly is. As for not engaging apostates in conversation, how will they be able to tell the difference between an apostate or someone who has researched the organization or who just happens to know more about scripture than they do. Ran into a few of those when I used to go "door knocking". I hope they start this where I live. My best friend who was never a JW would tear them a new one. LOL Leslie

SATANUS, thanks for the great tips. I will make some of that in the new year. I have to buy unscented washing products due to allergic rashes from the scented stuff and it gets pricey. With these suggestions I can control what ingredients are in the soap and save money. Thx again, Leslie
